Former Saturday Night Live cast member Bobby Moynihan returned to the Weekend Update desk on October 31, 2026, reviving his recurring character Drunk Uncle for the 16th time to celebrate the Milwaukee Brewers' first World Series championship.

According to LateNighter, Moynihan—who starred on Saturday Night Live from 2008 to 2017 and last played the character on a regular episode in October 2022 before a cameo on SNL50: The Anniversary Special in 2025—pulled double duty on the Halloween broadcast after appearing alongside Tom Hanks and Mikey Day in the David S. Pumpkins cold open. 'My dream of a beer winning the World Series finally came true,' Drunk Uncle told anchor Colin Jost, adding that he had been drinking since the Brewers clinched Wednesday night 'and also for the last 57 years before that.'

After Drunk Uncle worried aloud to Jost that Milwaukee's championship might have been a dream, Brewers manager Pat Murphy and players Brice Turang and Christian Yelich walked onto the Studio 8H set carrying the Commissioner's Trophy. 'And we have something in common, Drunk Uncle,' Turang told him. 'We've also been drinking since Wednesday.'
