Downtown Barrie BIA Acclaims Seven-Member 2027-2030 Board Ahead of November 26 Annual Meeting
The Downtown Barrie Business Improvement Area (BIA) acclaimed its seven-member Board of Directors for the 2027-2030 municipal term and scheduled its Annual General Meeting for Thursday, November 26, 2026, to introduce the incoming board in person.
According to the Downtown Barrie BIA's October 16, 2026 announcement, the nomination period closed on October 9, 2026, with seven candidates acclaimed unanimously by the BIA Nomination Committee: Steve Ricalis of Donaleigh's Irish Pub and Dunlop Diner, Alison Oakes of Oh Beehive! Refillery, Atul V Manan of Debut Bar and Restaurant, Craig Strachan of Bellwether Real Estate Group, Richard Tremblay of Seven Elements Wealth Planning, Tom Ambeau Jr. of NetGain Agency, and photographer Jennifer Klementti.
Separately, the Downtown Barrie BIA announced on October 13, 2026, that it contributed $5,000 from the summer return of the 20th Annual Barrie Ribfest at Heritage Park to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) Foundation's Keep Life Wild campaign.
